Bruthen is a small town on the East Gippsland Rail Trail that has a truly ‘village’ feel, with a wide park down the main street, a brewery and set on the Tambo River amongst rolling green hills.
A renovated timber cottage close to the town centre, with views, a rustic garden and wood fire is a perfect base for exploring the rail trail in each direction. To the west the trail passes through farmland, while cycling east the trail heads into forest. The side branch ‘Discovery Trail’ leads from the rail trail to the coastal town of Lakes Entrance.
