Lakes Entrance to Narooma
If you’re planning a road trip between Lakes Entrance and Narooma, you’re in for a treat. This scenic drive takes you along the picturesque coastline of Australia’s southeast, passing through charming towns and beautiful natural landscapes
Starting from Lakes Entrance, we headed south on the Princes Highway, passing through rolling hills and farmland before reaching the small town of Cann River. This cozy little town is nestled in the heart of the Croajingolong National Park and is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat.
We chose the incredible Squire’s Café which had a great cozy vibe and friendly staff.
This cafe is famous for its homemade pies, which are made from locally sourced ingredients and are absolutely delicious. The cafe also offers a range of other tasty treats, including sandwiches, cakes, and coffee. We tried the local steak and cheese pie which was incredibly rewarding considering the chilli temperature outside.
After fueling up at Squire’s Cafe, we continued further through Eucalyptus forests along the Princes Highway, passing through more stunning scenery as we made our approach to the coastal town of Eden. This town is situated on the shores of Twofold Bay, and is known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters.
One of the absolute must sees in Eden is to take a stroll along the Pinnacles Loop Walking Track. This 1.5-kilometer loop track takes you through towering rock formations and offers spectacular views of the ocean. This was also a great stop for my 5 year old daughter to stretch the legs and get some fresh air and enjoy the incredibly colourful landscape while we gazed out over the Tasman Sea.
As we continued our drive Northward from Eden, we passed through more beautiful coastal towns before reaching the town of Narooma, which marked the end of drive and our base for the next 2 nights.
Narooma is situated on the banks of the Wagonga Inlet and is known for its excellent fishing and surfing opportunities as well as an array of walking tracks, boat trips, fishing and fantastic restaurants.
