Narooma is a beautiful coastal village located in the Eurobodalla region of New South Wales, Australia. It is surrounded by pristine beaches, stunning landscapes, and a vibrant culture that makes it one of the top tourist destinations in the country. The village is known for its relaxed atmosphere, friendly locals, and excellent seafood.
We had the pleasure of spending 2 nights in this fantastic destination and really got to experience some of its absolute highlights. Including Central Tilba and Mission Bay among others.
Central Tilba is a small village located just a short drive from Narooma. It is a heritage-listed town that has preserved its historic charm, with many of its original buildings still standing. The town is known for its artisanal food and drink, with many local producers offering their wares in the town’s shops and cafes. Visitors can sample local cheeses, chocolates, and wines, and explore the town’s galleries and boutiques. Central Tilba is also home to the famous Tilba Dairy, which produces some of the best ice cream in the region.
We really enjoyed strolling around and taking our time whilst enjoying the ambiance of this incredible village. We also had the perfect opportunity to purchase some artisan cheeses (which we thoroughly enjoyed later) sweets from the local Tilba Sweet Shop and browsing through several other retail shops.
Of course we also took the opportunity to take a short stroll to the town lookout for an incredible birdseye view.
Our next stop was Mission Bay. Mission Bay is a stunning beach located just a short walk from Narooma’s town center. It is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing, with crystal-clear waters and gentle waves. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great place to relax and unwind. Visitors can also take a walk along the boardwalk, which offers breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding landscapes. We particularly enjoyed strolling along the beach and watching he kids playing amongst the golden sands while we gazed out toward the Tasman Sea.
No visit to Narooma is complete without a chance to sample some of the area’s incredible seafood. We opted for the spectacular Quarterdeck restaurant.
The Quarterdeck restaurant is one of Narooma’s top dining destinations, offering a delicious menu of fresh seafood, local produce, and international cuisine. The restaurant is located on the water’s edge and offers stunning views of the ocean and the nearby Montague Island. The menu features a range of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets, from classic fish and chips to gourmet seafood platters. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list, featuring some of the best wines from the region and beyond.
We hands down believe seafood wise that this is one of the best meals that we have had to date as we enjoyed sharing platters of oyster, squid, and freshly caught snapper as well as some fantastic Pinot Noir all while enjoying the breathtaking coastal views.
Where did we stay? We opted for the Amooran Oceanside Apartments due to its great amenities and location (Great Coastal Views).
Amooran Oceanside Apartments is one of the top accommodation options in Narooma. It is a modern, stylish complex located right on the beachfront, offering stunning views of the ocean and easy access to the town’s many attractions. The apartments are spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The complex also features a swimming pool, BBQ area, and a playground for children.
In conclusion, Narooma is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the best of Australia’s coastal lifestyle. With its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and excellent food and wine, it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, an action-packed adventure, or a gourmet experience, Narooma has it all.
